Nhung Truong is a Choral Director and the Coordinator of Applied Music at the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, MA. At Nobles, she conducts the Upper School Concert Choir, Middle School Chorus, Imani (Multi-Cultural and Gospel ensemble), and music directs the Nobleonians (all-male a cappella group) the Half-Notes (middle school a cappella group), and the annual school musical. She also created and now teaches an Introduction to Music Theory course.

Outside of classroom teaching, Nhung is active in many organizations that allow her to serve the greater choral community, and learn from and share knowledge with choral colleagues. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), for whom she currently serves as a Board Member for the Massachusetts chapter, and the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA), for whom she serves as Manager of the Eastern District Senior Chorus. Last summer, she presented a session titled “Building Community Through the Choral Warm-Up” at the Massachusetts ACDA Conference, and later published an article on this topic in the journal Mass Sings! Nhung also published an article for the Massachusetts Music Educators Journal titled “Do Years of Teaching Experience and Degrees Affect the Hiring Process?” She also participated in the Sarteano Choral Conducting Workshop in Sarteano, Italy as an invited Full Conductor. As a performer, Nhung sings alto in the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and the Seraphim Singers, a semi-professional choir based in Boston.

Originally from Winsted, CT, Nhung graduated from The Gilbert School. She has attended Laurel Music Camp since 2005 as a camper, Junior Counselor, and as a Senior Staff Member. She is entering her eighth year on Senior Staff and during this time she has served as Assistant Choir Chair and Choir Chair. She conducted the LMC Choir in 2018, and is thrilled and humbled to be back for 2022.

Nhung holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from UMass-Amherst and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Providence College.
