Nhung Truong is a Choral Director and the Coordinator of Applied Music at the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, MA. At Nobles, she conducts the Upper School Concert Choir, Middle School Chorus, Imani (Gospel and Multi-Cultural ensemble), and music directs the Nobleonians (all-male a cappella group) the Half-Notes (middle school a cappella group), and the annual school musical.

Before moving to the Boston area, Nhung taught choral music and IB Music at Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis, MA, was a graduate conductor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she conducted the Recital Choir and the Women’s Choir, and directed choirs at the United Church of Bernardston and Berkshire Hills Music Academy. In 2016, Nhung was the Music Director at the Cotuit Center for the Arts for their summer mainstage musical Oklahoma! She has also guest taught at local high schools coaching young conductors.

Nhung is an active member of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). She has held several volunteer leadership positions within these organizations, including Assistant Manager of the MMEA Eastern District Senior Chorus, for whom she will serve as Manager in 2019. Nhung also published an article for the Massachusetts Music Educators Journal titled Do Years of Teaching Experience and Degrees Affect the Hiring Process? As a performer, Nhung sings alto in the Seraphim Singers, a semi-professional choir based in Boston.

Nhung has attended Laurel Music Camp since 2005 as a camper, Junior Counselor, and as a Senior Staff Member. She is entering her sixth year on Senior Staff and during this time she has served as Assistant Choir Chair and Choir Chair.

Nhung holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from UMass-Amherst and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Providence College. Her conducting mentors include Dr. Tony Thornton and Dr. T.J. Harper.

We can't wait to see you all on June 23rd! Spots are filling up fast, so if you haven't registered yet get to it! All information can be found on our website.
